Advertising disclosure

This page sets out how advertising works on AllPermitSearch, so that nothing about it has to be inferred.

Advertising does not influence what is listed

Which jurisdictions appear in this directory is decided by one thing: whether we could retrieve and read that jurisdiction's official permit page. No jurisdiction can pay to be listed, to be listed more prominently, or to have anything on its page changed. There is no sponsored placement anywhere in the directory and there will not be.

Advertising is labelled

Every advertising unit on this site carries a visible "Advertisement" label and sits in a reserved container that is visually distinct from the content around it. Ads are never placed to be mistaken for navigation, for a jurisdiction's official link, or for one of our tools.

What we will not accept

  • Advertising that implies affiliation with any government agency.
  • Advertising for services that charge to obtain permits or public records that are free from the jurisdiction.
  • Advertising placed inside or immediately adjacent to the official-source link blocks, where a misclick has a real cost to the reader.

Affiliate links

We do not currently use affiliate links. If that changes, links that earn us a commission will be marked as such at the point of the link, not only on this page.
